1 Purpose and scope of application
The purpose of this standard is to determine the classification of tower cranes defined in the standard.
ISO 4306-3 and complies with their group.

NOTE - For classification of cranes, the definitions given in ISO 4306-1 are based on the number of cycles.

3 Terms and definitions
In this standard, the terms and / or words with the definitions expressed in ISO 4306-1 and
ISO 4306-3 is used.

4 groups of tower cranes
Tower cranes are divided into three general groups based on the service expected of them as follows:

Group 1- Tower cranes for irregular (non-continuous) use or having a light condition

Group 2- Tower cranes for construction.
Group 3 - Tower cranes for regular (continuous) use or with a heavy loading condition.

5 Classification of tower cranes as an integrated set
A tower crane, as an integrated assembly, shall be classified in accordance with Schedule 1.
